A fragment of what appears to be coursed walling is exposed in a coastal section; it extends for 2.5m and is up to 0.4m high. Further concentrations of stone lie to either side and may represent collapsed structural debris. Anthropogenic soils containing peatash and burnt bone extend for 0.15m beneath the walling. The hinterland area is very overgrown and no further archaeological remains are discernible. ShoreUPDATE 4 May 2015 End of a field wall running perpendicular to the coast exposed in the section above the bedrock, 8 courses visible. No anthropogenic soils were visible in association with the walling. |
