Dun Mara (3285)
Description
| A fortified promontory, with a dun on the seaward side. The dun is oval, c.28m by 22m with walls 2.3m wide and standing up to two courses high, encircled by a defensive ditch with a stone rampart on the northeast side. There are two oval buildings in the interior of the dun, thought to be intrusive. A stone wall on the outer edge of the ditch is thought to be later. |
