A stretch of walling and associated midden deposits visible at the top of a coastal exposure c.3m above the level of the beach. Midden both underlies and overlies the walling and consists of frequent oyster shells and occasional mussel shells in a dark brown soil matrix. Walling visible over a short stretch of c.1.5m and survives to c.0.5m in height. Shell and frags of burnt bone recovered from the base of the section. The lower part of the section is a mixture of exposed bedrock c1.5m high and steep grassed slope. The area above the section behind the coast edge has been recorded as containing large stones and midden material. This area behind the coast edge is vulnerable to development and topsoil stripping.

Research; especially history of oyster use in Mid Yell.
Comments
Vehicular access above the beach, foot access along the beach where the site is visible but not accessible at the top of the steep unstable section.
