Description

Drystone jetty, c. 2m wide x 15m long. Constructed of roughly squared boulders. Only foundation course surviving. Just detectable as an alignment of squared blocks within the rocky foreshore. This is the southernmost of 3 similar stone jetties between Achuvoldrach and Melness. The other two are sites 12535 and 12536.

Historical research and more detailed survey. This jetty is one of 3 along this short stretch of coastline. It would be interesting to find out more about their date and function, and how they relate to landward features and sites. assign priority 3 on basis of group value with 12535, 12536, 12558
