MOUND c60m N-S by 35m E-W, max 2m high. c15m section at S end of mound eroding at coastal edge. Stone, midden material and burnt deposits visible. On foreshore remains of burnt mound complex comprising tank, well, hearth and associated orthostats are visible (partially excavated and recorded in 2005, Toolis 2005 'Excavation at Meur, Sanday, Orkney' AOC Data Structure Report.

Comments Site fully excavated 2014-2015; but continued monitoring of the general area would be useful to identify any associated remains.
