Description

The vault is a small featureless rubble oblong. The retaining wall along the north and west is on average four ft long, featureless and of an uncertain date. Erosion is particularly severe on the northern and south-eastern side. Two rectilinear structures were observed within the burial ground, the eastern one obscured by ivy. This consisted of dressed ashlar sandstone whilst the wester one consisted of a coursed stone build. ShoreUPDATE 11/12/2015 The two structures noted in the original survey were located, though have been confused in the original description. The eastern structure, which is also referred to as the vault, is ivy-covered and constructed of coursed stone, the western structure is of dressed ashlar. Some interesting gravestones with detailed carving. No evidence of erosion.
