SCHARP in the Forth
SCHARP team explores the heritage of the Inner Forth
January 18th, 3:05 p.m.
This week, we spent a day exploring the rich landscape of the Inner Forth. From the Forth Bridges to Stirling, we visited archaeological sites on both banks of the river.
And there are some real gems to be found in the mud of the Forth estuary, from the remains of early industry and mining, to surviving evidence of fishing. The Forth was an important route for travel and trade, and the abundance of harbours and abandoned boat hulks testify to the role the river played in linking the area to the outside world.
We'll be putting everything we learnt about the area to good use, so check here for upcoming ShoreUPDATE events nearby.
